Divine Purpose Youth Performing Arts Center Youth Mental Health and Wellness

At Divine Purpose Youth Performing Arts Center, we believe that supporting our young people means caring for their emotional, mental, and physical well-being.

Our recent Mental Health Monday session was an incredible experience filled with learning, self-expression, and meaningful conversations.

During the session, participants engaged in an interactive activity called Recharge Island, designed to help youth recognize their emotions, explore healthy coping strategies, and understand the importance of self-care.

The activity featured four unique islands:

• Quiet Time: Finding peace through rest, reflection, and relaxation.
• Creativity: Expressing emotions through art, imagination, and creative activities.
• Movement: Using physical activity to release stress and improve emotional well-being.
• Connection: Building relationships and finding support through communication with others.

Each participant was presented with different real-life situations and encouraged to choose the island that best represented how they would recharge emotionally.

Through this experience, our youth learned an important lesson: Everyone experiences emotions differently, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to mental wellness.

It was inspiring to witness our young people confidently share their thoughts, express their feelings, and support one another in a positive and welcoming environment.

At Divine Purpose, mental health awareness is more than a conversation. It is part of our commitment to helping young people develop confidence, resilience, emotional intelligence, and healthy life skills.

Through our partnership with UBL, we continue creating safe spaces where youth feel heard, valued, encouraged, and empowered.

Because when we invest in the mental health of our youth, we invest in the strength and future of our communities.

Together, we are empowering young minds, encouraging healthy choices, and building brighter futures.
